ABOUT FILIPINO CUISINE

The Miss Mi Melbourne X Adobros AU collaboration comes at a time where Filipino cuisine is gaining popularity globally. In fact, we are witnessing a Filipino food revolution! Multi-layered and complex, Filipino cuisine is a melting pot with distinct cultural nuances.

With Chinese, Spanish and American influences, the occupation of the Philippines by other countries has deeply influenced the Filipino food we know and love today.

Dishes with Chinese names like lumpia and pancit and Spanish names like embutido and lechon alongside local language dishes including kinilaw and sinigang have continued to evolve, brought to life by a population spread across a glittering archipelago of more than 7,000 islands.

In short, it is a cuisine as diverse as it is delicious!
